Week 3 (Sept. 21-25)

Reminders 
9/21-9/24 there will be NWEA testing for about an hour each morning.  This data will be used to help create effective differentiated small groups in ELA and Math beginning next week. 
*Please send in only healthy morning snacks.  Please avoid juice because it can be messy. Thanks!
*Fliptop water bottles are great in the classroom.  Twist off tend to spill regularly.
*Signed Agendas and Take-Home Folders need to go home and back each day. 
*Weekly homework packets will go home on Monday (or the first day of the week if it happens to be a shortened one) and need to be completed and returned  by Friday morning (or the last day of the school week). 
*Please write a note in their agenda if there is a change to their regular dismissal location.  Front door is car pick-up and back door is walkers and Boys/Girls Club.

Week 2 (Sept. 14-18)

INFO for next week, Sept. 14-18
*Please have your children at school by 7:50 in the morning.  We begin instruction at 8:00.
*Heads Up on Testing...we will have 4 days of hour long tests (NWEA) to help place students for Enrichment Block groups. 
*Weekly Homework Packets will go home on Monday and are due by Friday morning.
*Please sign your child's agenda each evening. If there is a change to their normal dismissal location, please leave us a note. 
*If you'd like your child to have a morning snack, please send in a healthy snack each day. 
*RESPECT is our virtue of the month.  We have also created a social contract detailing our classroom expectations.  A photo of our contract was posted on the blog.

Week 1

INFO for the WEEK of SEPTEMBER 8-11 *We will be establishing and practicing many of our daily routines.  We will create classroom social contracts for positive learning communities.  We will also start off the bat practicing stamina with some independent work.  We will start off slow, and grow and grow!  :)
*Please take a few minutes to review our First Grade Handbook and any additional papers sent home.  Agendas will go home each evening for a parent signature.
*Please consider volunteering your time in our classroom.  A list of volunteer needs will be going home with your child.  Thank you! 
*If you would like your child to have a morning snack, please pack one daily.  Remember we are a peanut-free school. 
*If your child will be leaving out of the back parking lot (West) at the end of the day, please let us know.  Otherwise, we will plan on car pick-up in the front lot at 3:15. 
*Weekly homework packets will go home at the beginning of each week.  When completed, they may be turned in anytime by Friday morning. 
*Specials Classes take place daily 1:30-2:15.  Mondays- Art, Tuesdays- Gym, Wednesdays- Library, Thursdays- Computers, Fridays- Music.
