Week of April 28- May 2

**This is our NWEA Testing week!  We will be testing Monday- Thursday from 10:55-11:40.  Please remind your child to do their PERSONAL BEST each day.  Individual goals with be shared with students prior to testing.  These goals were also listed on report cards for you.  **

Reading Street 4.5

Amazing Words: jealous, silbing, porridge, seriousness, relatives, secret, collector, fourish

High-Frequency Words: picture, remember, room, stood, thought

Spelling Words ue, ew, ui: backpack, herself, lunchbox, brainstorm, outside, flashlight, suitcase, baseball, bluebird, inside

Skills: Compound Words, Theme, Story Structure, Thank-You Notes, Adjectives for How Many/Articles, Vowel Diagraphs eu, ew, ui, and Segment and Blend Phonemes/Vowels. 

Math
Math Lessons will be more limited this week due to testing.  We will cover Making Addition Easier (changing addends) and Modeling Number Sentences and Stories. 

Science
We will be wrapping up our study on the Surface of the Earth this week. 

**IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WALKING IN THE TULIP TIME PARADE WITH OUR CLASS, WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU!  YOU WILL NEED A DUTCH COSTUME LIKE THE KIDS.  THE PARADE IS THE AFTERNOON OF THURSDAY, MAY 8.  LOOK FOR INFORMATION IN THE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER FOR MORE DETAILS.**
